Astros @ Angels. September 26, 2025. Must win #1

Maybe the Stro poll tomorrow will be about the Postseason rotation.

It was a good run and we all have been spoiled since 2017. Getting swept by Seattle bothered me. This, not so much. I think we all had a feeling how this was going to end up. Time to do a little house cleaning.

Crane had an all time great GM, then he bowed to pressure from the league when other teams simply did not. Then, miraculously, he replaced that GM with another great one, whom he fired because the new GM wouldn’t kiss his ass.

I do want Espada and Brown gone, but I also want the baseball universe to recognize that all of this is an unforced error on the part of an owner who, unlike others under the microscope at the time, felt like he needed to suck Manfred cock.

This is what you get. And maybe he’s happy with the money. He probably is.

Had a 7 game lead on July 6

Did Espada and Brown tell the players to suck donkey dick with runners on base? That’s why this is happening. Injuries, historically bad clutch hitting and not giving a shit about giving up extra bases is what doomed this season. Only one of those can be blamed on the manager or GM

Click was a very good GM but Lunhow is who built the Astros dynasty we were so lucky to have witnessed.

Look, if they are not officially eliminated, I want them to get in the playoffs. Why give up now?

When the axe falls on this season, I want Crane to think about if he has another rebuild in him.

Luckily, the axe will probably fall before we have to watch a single pitch tomorrow

I blame Espada for doing stupid shit during games, but I don’t blame Brown for much.

Other than the 2 pitching coaches, I wouldn’t mind a cleanout of the dugout

I fucking refuse to read this Game zone, but perfect job Astros. No fucking notes.

Espada overmanaging, the offense shitting themselves late, losing to a horrible baseball team that’s 17 games under . 500.

Woof.

If the Astros had made the post season, it would have been just like watching Mike Tyson box again at the age of 89 years old like we were treated to last year. In some ways this result is easier.

Bring on Glass Joe

I keep seeing this sentiment going around and I just do not get it. We’ve seen so many baseball teams back into the postseason looking dead on arrival and then inexplicably going on a run. I’d take my chances with the 2013 Astros, much less the 25 ones. Get in and see what happens, you never know. That said, this team killed off basically their last chance tonight, so it won’t matter

I’m not a big fan of Espada but he wasn’t exactly dealt even close to a full deck this year. I won’t shed a tear if he’s gone, but I also won’t be up in arms if he’s brought back. Chopping and changing front office and managers every few years is not a recipe for success

My base level disagreement with this is that he was so much better with a bunch of nobodies than a real big league line up.

I’m not sure how he takes the current talent pool and makes it better.

I place that blame squarely on the players. This offense, and at times defense, was so bad that a rotation Bob Gibsons and bullpen of Mariano Riveras would have a hard time making the postseason. Without Yordan in there, and I think we have to assume going forward that he usually won’t be, this lineup has no pop. No pop and no timely hitting is a death sentence, I don’t care who’s on the mound or filling out the lineup card.

There’s plenty of blame to go around, Brown and Espada included, but at some point the players have to play to their talent and this team did not.

This whole organization needs to take a long look in the mirror and reevaluate a lot of what they are doing. Basically everything outside of whatever the fuck Josh Miller and co are doing

I totally agree, but it’s the manager’s job to get everything he can out of the players. It definitely feels like the players couldn’t give fuck one about Espada/the coaching staff.

Yordan played 48 games and hit 6 dingers. (that’s about a 20 per 162 game pace).

When you lost Hader you also lost your 8th inning guy.

The guys that did stay healthy looked like their only approach at the plate was to approach the plate.

Things could be better next season but they don’t have to be. I said before the deadline this team lacks dynamic talent.

Merry Christmas.

The lack of fire the last month made me really question Espada much more than any in-game decisions.

But Alex Cintron has to be the first to go. And if there’s anything but a complete clean out of the medical/training staff, I don’t even know what to say.
