That’s a winner! JJ, sorry I doubted you. Handshakes and high fives!

Ohtani takes a slider for a strike, pulls another foul, Ks swinging at 95

Astros somehow win.

Seattle won so magic number against them is 3.

Magic number for Oakland is 2.

Garcia eluded disaster.
Maton got gobsmacked by it.

Chas was spectacular in the field.

Yimi was fantastic in relief.

Good night.

Raley was good again too.

I am going to bed. If Baker explains his idiocy, tell me tomorrow.

Well, sorta. Graveman gave up a big hit.

Damage control

Even if that’s the case it doesn’t excuse burning Siri for no reason.

Indeed.

Astros threw 3 angels out at the plate.

I can’t recall ever seeing that in a game.

(1 tagged out, the other 2 were force plays)

He is so FOS. I doubt Alvarez would confirm any of this BS.

Btw, and I will not belabor this, but anyone who gives up on Graveman is also FOS. Some folks do not go beyond the result of the last pitch in their “evaluation” and give no credit to the opposition.

To me, I don’t have a big problem with pulling Alvarez.

This game, by itself, was not important.

The score was tied. Even without Alvarez the remaining players should still be able to win the game. They are still simply a better team.

But even if they couldn’t losing the game in exchange for preserving Alvarez with 2 weeks left in the season. Is the right move, IF ITS TRUE.

The problem I have is burning Siri.

Baker should have put Diaz, or Marwin in left.

Then he doesn’t have to burn a pinch hitter and still has Siri to run if needed.

Once again it’s terrible game management. We see it too often.

Agree.

In the key AB he decided correctly IMO to try to overpower Mayfield.

He just didn’t locate the FB well.

Mayfield barely kept it in play.

Tip your cap to Superjack.

After enjoying watching the replay of the runs scoring in the top of the 12th, I listened to the narrative from the Angels broadcasters.

During Correa’s AB, as they described his throw home w/ the bases loaded from his knees, (Rich) observed:

“their defense tonight was off the charts!”

He threw a 97 mph sinker down to the outer half, which is where he wanted it probably. He may have preferred more on the corner, but he also could not walk him or depend on Mayfield to chase. Kudos to Super Jack, which does not make Graveman “lousy.”

The game was incredibly important. It’s late September, and you’re trying to win a division.

But I agree that if you decide to pull Alvarez, for whatever reason, buring Siri for essentially no reason, is just stupid.
