Astros @ Angels, September 20, 2021

Bregman 5-3

Alvarez 4-3

Yuli singles thru the hole.

Hit number 3.

It’s quite obvious the Angels are just going to pound off the outside corner and get calls.

Tucker takes ball 2 for strike 1, misses another in the same spot, one hops a double over the wall in RF.

Yuli to 3rd.

Ground rule double cost the Astros a run.

Also, the radio guys said that Framber leads the league in average launch angle off balls in play. His average launch angle is NEGATIVE SIX.

Correa takes a 1-0 ball 2 inches off the inside corner for strike 1, misses a FB down the middle, fouls an inside FB, lines out to left.

Still 2-0.

Barria leading a charmed life.

There is the “real time” appeal, which is appealing before time is called on the play. But once the ball is dead, yes, it has to be put back in play for the appeal. All appeals have to be on a live ball.

The question, I think, is on initiating a challenge. I’m pretty sure that does not have to be a live ball. A player can request time out in order to give the manager a chance to decide on challenging, and the ball does not have to be put back in play before asking for it. In fact, it wouldn’t make sense if it did. It would essentially mean the offensive team could never challenge.

If that thing stays in play the RF is right on it.

But it’d be nice to try it.

Rojas looks at 3 Framber-esque curveballs for a quick K.

Guilt by association. Kind of like all trump supporters are deplorables and racists, and all blacks are thieves or blm. Nothing could be further from the truth people just blindly believe what someone says. We have had bad umpires forever.

Rengifo singles up the middle

What the literal fuck?

That was too exciting.

I am very pleased with the guys we have been bringing up even with a depleted minors system.

Mayfield flies out F8

TK correctly deduces that a collision between Chas and Yordan would have ended poorly for the CFer.
