The new model of the storm in the Gulf does not look promising for Tampa, etc

I just saw this. Thing made a u-turn and instead of south Texas is heading straight for Florida

Damn, in one day! They were talking about something but I didn’t even see it on the NOAA map yesterday.

You’re a hurricane magnet.

And the center of the universe.

Hard to disagree with this.

Talked to my friends in Sarasota yesterday, they’re prepped (they never got unprepped) and as ready as they can be for a week without power. “Shit, man, we both grew up on the Outer Banks, we’ve done this drill before”

Interesting fact: We are all the center of the observable universe.

Milton means business and has just started a rapid intensification cycle. I suspect most of the current forecast are underdone. If I was on the Central Gulf Coast of Florida up to the Big Bend, I would be watching this very

The storm has massive amount of very deep, warm water in the central Gulf to work with very low shear. A prime environment for storm intensification. Shear will likely increase as the storm approaches the coast, but that is likely to actually increase the integrated kinetic energy of a storm by making it grow in size while only reducing intensity a little bit. What is mean for those of you in Florida: as you evacuate, your evacuation plan should Contain larger distances than you would normally plan for.

Keep us posted, please

Ty, I’m so sorry this is happening. I gather that projections are for it to be there late Wednesday? I’m not sure that I’d stick around for it to develop.

Thanks, Neil. No, we’re not sticking around.
