I think we should fine Limey and Hudson $.25 for every hyperbolic statement they make
Weād have a million dollars.
$2M if we included you
Still not enough to buy the Twins. We need more revenue streams if weāre gonna get it done.
So Iām twice as hyperbolic than those two jokers put together? Sorry for the Saturday math.
I donāt think anybody in the history of human civilization has been worse at math.
Thereās another quarter for the jar.
Twins, here we come.
Imagine the wiki page. Current Owners: A bunch of goons from Orange Whoopass
I got tree fiddy
Iāve been wanting to put together a podcast. āGoons From Orange Whoopassā has a certainā¦je ne sais quoi.
I donāt know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
My current plan is squeegee and a hose as I have a one level ranch where getting on the roof is not too difficult (for now). There are enough solar panels around where I live (SF Bay area) that there are folks who offer the service.
Weāve had our system for about three years now, but I have not noticed any loss of power production over that time. Could be that the heavy winter rains wash them clean each season.
I got one of these after Beryl. I havenāt had it during an outage yet, but I did test it to see how long it would power my fridge. About eight hours. Recharging solar took about four hours from 20% to 80%. If you can plug it into your neighbors generator it charges very quickly in about an hour. I can also recharge it from my Chevy bolt.
This seems to be the YouTube reviewersā whole house battery system of choice.
It can run 240V appliances and is stackable/expandable; once you have the inverter, you can daisy chain a bunch of batteries for the capacity you want. And the inverter lets you recharge the system from solar, generator or mains.
It aināt cheap though, at $5k for a āstarter packā of the inverter and one battery pack.
Theyāre actually running a sale right now. The inverter/battery and one extra battery for $3,599. Itās looking pretty tempting.
Pretty interesting.
Iām seriously thinking about getting a generator switch added to my breaker box so that I can have one of these.
Iām all electric, so I canāt even warm up food when the power goes out.
Non-sponsored? I figured that was you in the Bass Pro Shop hat
I never leave home without it.
Somebody needs to figure out the breaker box equivalent of software-defined networking, so that you can group arbitrary circuits in the box into ācircuit groupsā that can be served by switches to switch between the main feed and a backup unit such as this. I can probably get an electrician in to split things out now so I can put the refrigerator and a bedroom and bathroom in a separate group, but if I start using the house differently and want to use different circuits, I have to get the electrician out again to rewire things.
