Two days in a row I have been asked who my favorite Astro is right now. My answer has been Yuli both times.

Chazzy Fizz with runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, takes a fastball at the knees for a strike. Swings wildly at an Altuve-esque slider, 0-2. Low and in sinker, 1-2. Fooled by a low slider, swing and a miss. Ugh.

Toro with 2 ducks on the pong fouls off a fastball off the outside corner. Astros are 13-2 with Toro starting at 3rd base this season. That’s nuts. spinner at the top outside corner, strike 2. That pitch should’ve been deposited on the train tracks. Swings over a splitter that fucking bounces.
End 2, 2-0 A’s. Fucking putrid with RISP so far.

Machete takes a strike at the bottom of the zone. Excuse me swing roller down the 1st base line. Montas falls on his ass for no reason, A’s catcher fields and throws Maldy out by approximately 193 feet. 1 out.

Altuve swings a mile over a low splitter, 0-1. Swings at a splitter that fucking bounces, 0-2. Why would you ever throw him a strike when he swings at bullshit like that? 2 seamer on the inside corner pulled foul, 0-2. 45 footer, Altuve miraculously lays off. Takes a slider that bounces, “There’s a good take” - Todd Kalas, unironically. 2-2. Swings at another fucking bouncing splitter that gets away from Garica. Altuve gawks at it for a few seconds then takes off, then elects to jog the last 30 feet. Out by a fair amount.
That was the perfect summation of why Altuve is so fucking frustrating. He swung at 1 strike in that whole at bat.
