Consistently inconsistent.
I think the World Series & the WBC are creating a very tired team. It feels like they were running on fumes toward the end and their professionalism won out in the end. Avoiding the wild card series might give them the breather they needed to make a deep run but my expectations are tempered.
They better not start any of that co-champion bullshit like the Co-Ards did. We’ve got a fucking silver boot that says otherwise.
Somebody should make a billboard showing a silver-booted foot kicking a cartoon Ranger in the butt (I think there’s an old Pure Prairie League album cover that could serve as a starting point). I nominate JackAstro.
I saw a graphic from MLB on Fox that said “Days in first place: Texas 154 Houston 24, yet Houston wins the division”, completely forgetting (and I posted to remind them) that first place only counts for anything once a year.
The Rangers held first place in the AL West, or a share of it, for 148 of the first 149 days of the season and the nine days leading up to Sunday.
I don’t see that as anything but an indictment of the Rangers.
