Bases loaded no out, no runs pretty much decided this one.
That, and the two cookies to Smith.
Bottom of the ninth…4-1 Rangers
Singleton, Peña and Meyers will face the Rangers All-Star closer.
Singleton…full count…works the lead off walk
Peña with a knock!
Meyers, representing the tying run, squibs one to SS, 6-3 as runners move up
Loperfido grounds out 3-1 as Singleton scores
Up to Cabbage…
Cabbage dribbles out 3-1
And the Astros take it in the shorts.
4-2 is the final.
Sure would’ve been nice to have a really good contact hitter up in that situation. Eh? Oh.
Don’t go all good in game manager on us, Mark!
Last two days reminds me of the April Astros. Doing everything but scoring. Frustrating.
Would have been nice if Loperfido or Cabbage would have waited for a pitch they had a remote chance of actually hitting, instead of hacking at slop the first pitch. But hey, if it’s good enough strategy for Altuve and Bregman, it’s good enough for them.
At this point in the season I would rather see Cabbage up there than Dubon and I hate Cabbage as a player.
Dismal abysmal
Is there any reasonable explanation for not using Pressly in the 8th?
Thank god for the All Star break, because this sure looks like the start of a serious spiral…

Is there any reasonable explanation for not using Pressly in the 8th?
Saving him for tomorrow

Is there any reasonable explanation for not using Pressly in the 8th?
In seriousness, I guess the only explanation would be that Montero hadn’t pitched in a while
