ALDS Game 4, Astros @ White Sox

To be fair some of that was yesterday/this morning. Still it was quite a thread and I for one was happy to participate

If you missed Correa’s postgame interview, he said that watching Rodon’s reaction to his previous strikeouts on high fastballs convinced him another was coming on 0-2. He said a slider would have had him falling on his face.

So I only watched for so long but it struck me that I never saw Bregman Altuve Correa Gurriel Alvarez Brantley during the champagne celebration. Anybody else notice this? Or was I wrong?

Camera was on TLR several times in the AB. You can see him getting madder after each of the 3 inside FBs.

As he was yelling at HPU he glared at least twice into the dugout yelling at Dusty.

Pitiful performance by a fool.

LaRussa has become a cartoon.

So, today was a horrible day at work and had to miss the game entirely. Just got done watching and reading thru the game zone. Great work by this Astros team and organization and great work by all of you in GZ. What a great day!!

I have had this same thought about Maldonado. I don’t know how long he wants to play, but if I’m the Astros I’m already in his ear about a coaching career. I think he’d be a great bench coach and future manager.

I would not expect to see McCullers until Monday in Boston for game 3 at the earliest. I doubt he pitches a day game on Saturday. Let him get the extra rest and have him full strength (hopefully all he needs is a bit of extra rest).

You’re not wrong, I noticed that too.

I should use my fingers when I try to count to five.

I told my buddy at the place we were watching something similar. Rodon had gotten Ks on 2-3 previous hitters with FBs at the top of the zone. I said “He’s going to go back up there again; I hope Carlos is ready.”

Rodon’s arrogance and screaming on every pitch early while Adrenalin had him throwing 99 may have pissed off the BBGs. He looked like a whipped dog in the dugout after being pulled.

On the radio, they said families were on the field, and to do interviews there, players had to leave the clubhouse. Maybe one of those places is where they were.

I watched the game with a close friend at
our lucky watering hole. I was on the GZ some but late in the game so I came home and read the entire thread. Great job all of you. GZ is a great place to be again after the troll either stayed away or was banished.

OWA has been on SSDs for a few years so thanks but no thanks.

Thanks for all you do, Waldo.

Solid state drives cost $$ too. As does cloud hosting. We’ve offered before but it bears repeating. If ever you want to consider a funding drive, many of us would gladly pony up. Regardless, we appreciate all you do to maintain a place for all of us to come together and fight like hell.

Edited to add: It does not need to be anything formal like a GoFundMe page. A simple Venmo or PayPal link so we can send you a little sumpin’-sumpin’ to run down to the corner marked for a sixer to sustain yourself as you work on the Blowtorch. That’s all.

100% agree, would love to support OWA either with money or technical “expertise” if needed!

SI correspondent Matt Martell didn’t buy it, noticing the interaction b/t Machete & Abreu after the play. Enjoyed his article; he pulled no punches with the CWS or TLR, however…

The broadcasters joked at La Russa’s act (4:08), as they announced Abreu’s 22nd HBP this year and the camera captured Abreu chatting w/ Yuli as they observed the show… Here is the clip.

Tom Verducci focused on Correa’s plan of attack in the hitters meeting - it worked.
A very good read.

Nice links.

From Verducci:

Correa does not pull fastballs. The last time he pulled a pitch 95 mph or more for an extra-base hit was four years ago, a double off Luis Severino of the Yankees in 2017.
