I know it isn’t hipster, but it is hard to beat Guinness for my money. And the factory tour is among the best I have experienced. They even make sure you can never run out.

Guinness is great in Ireland, but there are plenty of beers better than Guinness available too.
Haven’t found it around me yet (I’ve got Spec’s working on it), but I’ve heard very good things about Equiano rums.

I agree. Guinness is a cultural icon in Ireland and there have been countless nights in pubs here where that is all I will drink, as well as everyone I am with. It’s interesting that a country whose culture is so associated with pub life and drinking has only relatively recently branched out into something other than a Guinness product.
My first night in Ireland I was coherent enough to go out I went to a local pub in Bray and sat at the bar, one of 5 seats in a very dark corner. EVERY person that came up to the bar and heard me talking/talked to me and found out I was a visiting American INSISTED on buying me a Guinness. I got VERY drunk that night.
