ALCS Game 6 Astros vs Everyone

Wait, more brother-on-brother smack? Gotta love that (being one of a pair myself).

My unloved younger sibling is taller, smarter and a better wine maker than I am.
I’m so grateful he loves the Houston Astros baseball club like me.

So he has that going for him.
Which is nice.

Too bad our parents didn’t love him growing up 🤷

Thoughts and prayers for the 2018 cheaters? :man_shrugging:t3:

I’m still just laughing about the Astros outscoring the Sawx 22-1 the last 20 innings of that series

We should all have a moment of silence for them.
Ok, that was good.

My bad, I farted right as we started it.

Should we start again? No? Cool.

Hold on, Mark.

I have a guy on the other line interested in some white walls.

Did somebody order a tombstone?

I realize some of you may not live in Houston, nor near the great state of Texas (I’ll say that with apprehension even as a son of the Lone Star State), but I can’t begin to convey how paramount this Game 6 ALCS victory was for the good guys from Houston.
I now live in Southern California (willingly left Austin) and am surrounded by dojer fans who are some of the most self-absorbed, self-righteous, pious, indignant, ignorant having as much self awareness as a dog licking its own asshole in public, people. I have been in several spars with dojer backers who whinge about the 2017 WS they lost (head to head with home field advantage we all know) and am a marked man, what with my penchant for wearing Houston Astros baseball club paraphernalia during the season. Plus, my 4Runner has a 2017 WS Champions license plate holder…
That all being said, this win of the AL/Softball League pennant for the 3rd time in 5 years validates what so many of us on here know- the Houston Astros baseball club is a unique and truly special franchise, one with a truly unique and special fan base, one that has suffered and been loyal for years. I’ve been a backer along with my unloved younger sibling since we were wee tots only due to our now late father’s adoration of the Houston Astros; his days in the mid ‘60s in Houston “utilizing” his press credentials to go to The Astrodome and see the Astros play laid the foundation.

That all being said, I thank you so very much for being allowed to post on here and share with you our highs, lows, et, al and I love being around you Orange Fire backers.

I’m a man on an island in SoCal, I wear the badge of being a Houston Astros baseball club supporter well and always will, and hope that this team goes all the way to win this whole fucking enchilada.

Stay well, friends.

Breathing Orange Fire since 1962.

Luv ya Orange.

Let’s go Astros.

Today’s sign of the apocalypse is something that literally no one wants: Astros ALCS championship merchandise from Jomboy.

It sure felt good to sit down on my own couch, turn on my own TV, crack my own beers and watch my first Astros game on American soil in over a month. A special game indeed.

Glad all is well, Mike. Finally.

One of the interesting nuggets from Spark’s interviews was just how proud Graveman was of his 3-1 pitch to Shaw. There were two step offs and a mound visit before the pitch, but he wanted to throw that change and stuck with it, even though he says it is a very rare pitch for him to throw. Set up the big play.

He told Julia he had not thrown a changeup in three months.

Fuck you, Verducci. every fucking article has to refer to the “scandal,” and now he says the Astros will never remove the “stain” of 2017. Fuck you, Verducci. Write about what Chris Bassitt said yesterday. You and the other rattlesnakes in the baseball media single out Houston as the sole villain when you know as well as Bassitt does the entire league, including the sainted teams in Boston and NY, were every bit as guilty of “duplicitous baseball” as the Astros.

I stayed away from these parts after Game 3. It didn’t do anything of course, but it made me feel like I was contributing. This morning I sat down and read the last three GameZones–of course this morning I’d sit down and read the Worcester, Ma, Daily DingDong if it had something to say about the Astros winning the pennant. It’s a great way to relive the games, keep up the good work, and see you after the World Serious!

What a pivotal turn of events.

3- 1 count, runners on the corners, 1 out in a 2 run game.

Graveman and Maldonado performed beautifully.
