Bottom 3 Valdez pitching (still!)
Verdugo – FB strike 1; FB, fouled by inches down left field line, strike 2; foul, breaking ball; foul, breaking ball; ball 1 breaking ball low and outside; 3U.
Arroyo – fouls high FB, strike 1; ball outside; 5-3.
Vasquez – swinging strike 1 on down and in pitch; strike 2 FB; ball 1 FB high outside; strikes him out swinging over a breaking ball.
Finishes inning at 35 pitches, I think.

That’s a pretty low bar to celebrate, but we’ll take it!

I think the field itself is great, but the amenities and building itself is outdated, tiny, and a dump. It’s not as awful as Wrigley, but I’ve been to demolished buildings that were nicer than Wrigley.

And there was much rejoicing.

For whatever reason, that’s a matchup where he just can’t compete.

Sale has done a good job of using sliders that start right at Brantley.

I wonder how much his knee is hindering him at the plate. Right knee, right?
That change is working today.

Have to identify pitches at the bottom of the zone and lay off them without two strikes.
He’s only throwing them down under the zone.
