You know, even if he’s been throwing curves for months, I’d still say that he just started throwing them about a week before his first start, just to plant a little seed of doubt in the minds of those first few batters.

All good news! McCuellers is throwing live BP, so not playing the game.
You have to hand it to them to try this.
Science and technology can have a hand in pulling this off handily.

He was there yesterday, worked out on the field, spent the game in the dugout.

I was at the game directly behind home plate. Jake looked pretty sharp in the first, but had a little control problem in the second and third. Jake and I both felt he was being squeezed and let HPU know about it. Jake was very discreet with a quiet word after the inning. I was not.
Great little ballpark. Get the good seats and have the buffet before the game. The prime rib and shrimp were delicious. Whole package for $60.

I think that is exactly what he thinks. It is a good thing we can all count on him to repeat the obvious. He may be a sort of proto-Cabrera.
