I know what he means, but that just reads funny. Like the good news is Urquidy has some inflammation in his shoulder. If only we had a native English speaker here in the baseball forum…
“I know it’s nothing crazy,” Urquidy said. “The MRI just showed inflammation of the muscle in the back of my shoulder, and I have to just do treatment. I hope to throw next week for sure, but it depends a lot on how I feel day by day. I’m getting better, and I feel good.”
…and Framber begins his rehab assignment on Sunday
As expected, Urquidy retroactively to the IL, Paredes activated
This could be just that Paredes is ready and they need another arm in the pen. Or it could mean that Urquidy’s arm fell off.
Raining in RR. Game pushed back to 2.
Based on the expected number of rehab starts, Kaplan suggesting that Odorizzi will be back in the rotation for the May 28-30 series with the Padres while Framber will be slotted in the first week of June.
As far as domino effects of those two coming back Kaplan also speculates:
- The Astros might play it overly cautious with Jose Urquidy and not activate him off the IL until early June even though he might be ready sooner.
- Cristian Javier to the pen as a long man while possibly staying stretched out enough to return to the rotation later in he season if needed.
- Luis Garcia to AAA where he’ll continue to stay stretched out as a starter.
- Brandon Bielak to AAA as well.
- A third roster spot would still need to be freed up so either Kent Emanuel joins Garcia and Bielak in AAA or if the Astros decide to go with a 14-man pitching staff then Rohel Garcia makes the trip to Skeeter land.
