Aches, Pains and Muscle Strains 2021

I do remember that as being the reason but 4 months later priorities change.

I would expect that the team would rather have the best players on the roster for the stretch run, especially since they are trying to win the division and get best record and have legitimate World Series shot.

That is unless one of them are traded. That would answer that…

I would think development over winning in April is an acceptable philosophy

But winning over development in August is a must.

Is the difference between Toro once a week and Garcia once a week gonna make any meaningful difference? To me, no it’s not. Also if Toro is gonna be one of your potential trade pieces then you will need Garcia, at least until Bregman is back

Both are on the roster now so with only Diaz returning, then clearly one will need to stay.

Diaz has not shown to be durable so its tough to expect him to play everyday. At least without getting hurt.

I think until Alex gets back that Diaz plays 60-75% of the games.

For the other 25-40% Toro is still a better option than Garcia if you want the best chance to win each game.

And as a bench player. In NL parks, pinch hitters come in to play much more often. It’s even more important to have your best hitters available.

This assumes Baker remember 1) that they will be playing NL teams in NL parks using their rules and 2) he remembers that the game is played a bit differently in those circumstances.

Great news. Toro and Garcia have filled in admirably for Bregman, but Diaz is an upgrade.

Diaz would slot into what Toro does now and likely start nearly every game at 3B. If he gets hurt, as he seems likely to do, then Toro comes right back up. You have a much higher opinion of Toro right now than I do I guess. He’s fine and yes a better player than Garcia but Garcia is also much more versatile.

I have a high opinion of Toro, and while he is not a SS, he can play the other infield positions.

Not sure how anyone blames Diaz’ broken hand on his being injury-prone.

Clearly he needs to teach his bones to stop being so brittle.

There’s nothing he could do about the broken hand or any of the other injuries he’s had since he’s been here. Just seems like a safer bet to say he will spend more time on the IL than on the field with the years of data we have at this point, that he just doesn’t stay healthy

And…it’s Robel

That should make you happy, Lefty. I believe “fucking worthless” was your assessment.

Worthless except when he picked that hot short hop in the seventh yesterday.

My exact words were “Robel Garcia is totally fucking worthless at the plate.”

I realize that the Game Zone is no place for spur of the moment hyperbole, but I pretty much stand by that (the walkoff was great)

I think it’s written into the primer for the GZ that spur-of-the-moment hot takes are perfectly acceptable.

I beg to differ.

Pretty sure the GZ EULA stipulates that only the most well thought out, erudite posts will be allowed to be entered into The Book of Game Zone.

Also no cussing.

I have no problem with any of those rules, and I often am known to use slight profanity. I happen to think, however, because Pollyanna is my middle name, no major league ball player is fucking worthless. Except Tyler Bauer, of course.

I was just giving you shit, Lefty. I know you secretly love Robel.

I love some good Robel in my tortilla soup

I quit using it in my queso, found a better plan. Am I allowed to mention queso in the TZ? Need input from the Rules Committee

Only one rule in the GZ:

  1. There are no rules.
  1. Mark can and will set new records and create new epithets towards any and all umpires
