I don’t think it’s that bad under the circumstances.
Taylor Jones can only play first base so it makes sense to give Brantley some rest and put him at DH if Yuli is on the bench. Can’t do anything about Yordan’s baby on the way.

Brantley DH’d yesterday, would seem like a good game for Yuli to do the same
The talent difference is obvious. But Yordan is exceptional and there will almost always be a difference between he and replacement when a star needs time away.
I still think Jones has a solid future ( if shorter) as a big league run producer.
He just needs time and plate appearances.
Look at his career to date and Tucker’s first year.
Both have exactly 72 PA
Tucker: 236OB - 203slg - 449 ops. 23 ops+
Jones 222 OB - 269slg - 491 ops 34 ops+
Now both of those numbers are awful but I am trying to make a point that the adjustment to MLB is hard and it takes time
New lineup:
Altuve 2B
Straw CF
Brantley DH
Correa SS
Toro 1B
McCormick RF
Jones LF
Castro C
Garcia 3B
McCullers Jr. RHP
This is probably a result of that awkward dive he made in right field.
Good grief. AAA lineup tonight. Come on Skeeters!
Paredes off the IL and back in Sugar Land
Going to do an Express game tomorrow. Maybe I’ll see him.
Awesome, I’ll tune in.
So he gets back in the lineup tonight and promptly hits a grand slam.
Here’s hoping,
Bregman: “might get to go see Mom and Dad [in Albuquerque]” (w/ the Skeeters, July 15-20.)
Raley out for health and safety protocols.
Garza called up to replace him.
Correa was just placed on the IL.
ETA: Health/safety protocols.
I feel ignorant for asking this, but I assume there is no requirement for vaccinations in MLB, correct? And I also assume we will never know who got the vaccine unless they offer that info, correct? I also wonder if your teammates are privy to that info.
As an aside, while I understand it’s someone’s personal choice to get vaccinated, being part of a team complicates how much I respect the idea that it’s a personal choice.
Personal choice my ass, these ignorant pig fuckers are going to dick around and develop a variant that laughs at the current vaccines. It’s like climate denial, there is no other side to this.
In the good news department, Diaz took BP with the team yesterday, no timetable for his return.
“I was more nervous today than the day I debuted in the bigs, but it’s a big day,” he said. “I feel great so I’m just enjoying being with the guys outside today and taking hits on the field. Hopefully this is the beginning of pushing more hard the next couple days and getting back on the field.”
Haven’t they been saying we wouldn’t see him until august? Is he ahead of schedule?
The initial 6-8 week diagnosis put him back in action anywhere from after the ASB to the first of August, so it looks like that’s still the window.
He’s still got IF work, more live BP and a rehab assignment ahead of him.
