Threw a scoreless inning and had two strikeouts.
One of my close friends is a scout for the Marlins and was scouting this game. Said Garcia looked great, but with the caveat that obviously this level can’t really hit pitchers that change speeds.
So in Astro terms:
Tucker’s entire shin is “fluid”
And Verlander is “perhaps” able to very lightly toss a ball around.
Great. This shouldn’t take much time at all.
ETA: if someone would like to reassure me this is a league wide policy, then I’ll drop it. But as a fan, the Astros are fucking PISSING ME OFF with their “injury updates”.
I’m picturing one of the youngsters on the roster approaching him and saying “hey dad, wanna have a catch?”
Doesn’t really matter. They’ll undoubtedly get hit by a bus on their way back to MinuteMaid.
Tucker “weeks away”, JV played “light catch” from 60’
Per Espada
Tibia replacement surgery is tricky.
Bone bruise developed into gangrene, sepsis, and somehow, measles.
Beats amputation
Depends on how sharp the knife is
Have they ruled that out???
This tucker shit worries me. We need that dude to continue to make a run.
Those deep bone bruises like he has are kind of a bitch. Much like hamstring injuries, you could be fine after a couple of days off it, or deal with it for months. Nobody knows how long it’ll take, it just feels better when it feels better.
I think it was Kevin Bass that I remember missed months with the same injury one year.
Missed 68 games in '89, but he had a fractured shinbone
I know both of those words but I don’t like that they can be put together.
So basically we’re not going to see Tuck or JV until mid-August
Seems optimistic.
