He only has one leg in that pic…

But both shoulders?

Brave little guy

So does Bregman’s elbow increase the chances we could work out a midterm deal…maybe a 2-3 year deal where Bregman has an opt out after each year?

Its a nice thought, but I don’t see it.

If Bregman were hurt enough to effect his contract, he wouldn’t have been able to play 3b at all this week.

No this is just the result of playing baseball and needs a quick cleanout and 2 months to recover.

If he plays through it and performs like typical Bregman it could actually improve his status among potential suitors.

I doubt it. I suppose theres a chance he has to sign a 1 year deal if the injury hurts him in FA. I don’t see any way he signs more than 1 year but less than 6. Unless it is one of these 3 year deals that are actually just 1 year deals in disguise.

Yes, I was thinking one like Chapman just signed. I believe it was a two or three year deal with an opt out after each year. So he gets security of a couple more years, but if he shows he’s healthy and kills it, he goes right back on the market after year one.

There is zero chance Bregman signs for a 2-3 year deal. It will take 7 years, minimum to sign him.

In Bregman’s mind, he’s already earned a monster long-term deal. He’s not trying to prove himself. He wants an Arenado or Rendon type of deal, not a Chapman one. It’s gonna take silly money on a commitment to well past his prime to sign him.

This is what everyone who loves the last 2 months of his performance needs to keep in mind.

If he insists on six or seven years, he’s going to be playing for somebody else, HEB endorsement opportunities be damned.

And Bregman is younger than Arenado, Rendon, Machado, or Chapman. He thinks he’s hands down the best third baseman of his generation, a perennial MVP contender. He’s gonna want to get paid. Someone will.

Apparently Tucker actually suffered shin discomfort.

The Athletic reports that sources say a fracture, and Brown says now that the Astros suspect it was a small fracture. All of this indicates that indeed he does still have a leg.

ETA: He may even have two legs!

The San Andreas fault is a small fracture.

Least shocking injury update of the season.

Yeah, I nearly fainted from surprise.

They probably found the fracture after they amputated the leg.
