A’s @ Astros, May 19, 2023 The Return of Altuve!

It is impossible for a catcher to make a better throw.

I think the 2-1 pitch scraped dirt.

HPU is Brennan Miller, a fairly young ump:

Another fucking infield hit. That’s the third one

Terrible throw by Maldy

Maldy with the exact opposite throw down to second that we saw from the As catcher.

How did that guy foul that pitch off?

Well, he did it again.

Man those A’s love that inside pitch. They can’t lay off.

2-out double, and we’re tied

It’s amazing what the difference is between different guys fastballs are.

Javier throws 93-94 up around the top of the zone and it’s fucking unhittable. Bielak throws one 92 out of the zone up and dude gets on top of it and hammers it to the wall.

Bielak really laboring

Yep. Javier’s is like a cannonball that goes right through you.

Per McTaggart:

At 110.1 mph, that infield single grounder was Abreu’s hardest-hit ball of the year.

Translation: Abreu absolutely crushes one for an infield single.

Good at bat for Meyers drawing a leadoff walk

Maldy with a seeing eye single

They showed a stat earlier that the A’s pitching staff total ERA is over 8 on the road.

I will never understand Jose Altuve’s plate approach. He wildly swung at a ball to lead off his first AB, then with 2 on and no outs takes an absolute get ahead slider right down the middle in AB 2.

And takes another shitty slider for strike 2.

That was the best pitch Altuve will see this AB.
