Of course it does. They wouldn’t dare open a window to look out.
No Ray. The ATC told him twice.
Hot Springs National Park announced today that their nice visitor center in the Fordyce Bathhouse will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays until further notice. They weren’t allowed to say why.
We get a fuck-ton of Texans here on Spring Break, and now all the visitors will have a lesser experience. Just so they could save the salaries of a few seasonals and park interpreters.
After multiple media outlets called them out for a comical number of errors in what they claimed, doge deleted its alleged five biggest budget cutting triumphs from their website:

My cohearts did an amazing job going around at Midway with such little room for error.
I can only imagine it was asses and elbows down low and then shooting up out of there.
I had a low go-around in my previous life at night in Toronto once and it was “interesting.”
Yes you do, and it’s not just Spring Break, that sucks for the people up there depending on tourists all-around and such.
I can’t keep track of this horseshit anymore, @Limey needs start a spreadsheet
I listened to the ATC recordings and the corporate jet crew done did fuck up by crossing after being told 2x to hold short of the runway.
Just wait until ATC is stretched thinner with less controllers because of DOGE/this shitbag administration- I’m afraid safety could be compromised and the robust, best in the world aviation system we enjoy in the US could be in peril.
Fuck eloon and donnie and his ilk.
You will get your ass kicked saying something like that.
Pre or Post op?
John, what sort of discipline does the private jet pilot face?
Hoover weighs in with his preliminary analysis, including the radio exchanges.
The small jet’s pilot got confused and, instead of taking a beat to un-fuck himself, he forged ahead without looking.
As Hoover points out: before you cross a runway you have a good, long look to see if anything is coming.
The House passed its budget last night 217:215. One Republican voted no.
They hide behind the design of the bill to cut the budgets of departments, not specific programs, but they have slashed the budgets of departments that run Medicaid and SNAP. So these programs have to be cut in response as there’s no way to achieve the budget without doing so.
They argue that they’re balancing the budget, but even after cutting $2.5 trillion annually from the budget, this legislation will increase the deficit, because they take the savings and more and give them to the 1% by way of tax cuts.
This budget - over a ten-year window - increases the debt by $24 trillion. That’s almost double what it is right now.
This budget will hurt/kill so many people. The only silver lining is that it will hurt the GOP base in the rural red states and (hopefully) snap them out of their blind faith in Trump.
Wait until they find out China has 6 million millionaires.
I know it sounds like the only color they’re worried about in this scheme is green, it’s impossible to imagine with this lot that the only color that really will matter is white.
[Yes, I know that white isn’t actually a color]
Also good advice for driving a car through an intersection.
Exactly. Just speaks to the level of dumbfuckery that was going on in that private jet’s cockpit.
Here ya go:
One can never tell what’s going on in a person’s mind in the moment and which kind of day they’ve had, what they’re experiencing/feeling or if they’re just a wee tired, you name it. I have made MANY mistakes in 28 yrs of flying/21 with 3 airlines, so there but by the grace of God go I.
However, comma, yes, the pilots in that corporate jet screwed up royally. The thing is, it could’ve been me or anyone, so the goals are to be grateful this didn’t end disastrously, learn from it, and hopefully keep remaining vigilant and safe.
I will further add that MDW is a ridiculously challenging airport wrought with numerous external factors and issues, we at SWA as well as the FAA/the aviation industry have stretched it to its operational limits and flying in and out of there requires being on one’s game. I joke that I always want to be a Naval Aviator since I was a kid but there’s a thing called an eye test that apparently one must pass to qualify for pilot training in the Navy (whatever), but I do get my carrier qualification landing at the USS Burbank, USS Orange County (fuck John Wayne), and of course, the good ol’ USS Midway. That airport is awfully challenging to taxi around and I loathe it and try to avoid it if able. Throw in some classic midwestern winter weather, and things get even more sucking up seat cushion with your butt cheeks oriented.
