They’re a bunch of pussies and will never just come out and say it. Not until it’s safe.
They’re feckless cowards, the lot of them.
GOP House Rep. got a full house - with people overflowing outside - for his first town hall. They weren’t there to praise the Dear Leader (video in the link).
The GOP budget calls for cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Nothing focuses the minds of American voters more than fucking with those two things.
They’re apparently too stupid to take the chain off it.
To quote a Gary Larson “Far Side” cartoon: “Oh, please, please, please…”
Finger here, finger there…?
My ol’ quasi-brother had a younger brother, and he called it an: Evan carpentry job. Only cut one finger off.
A carpenter I had build a deck for me a few years back had half a middle finger on his right hand. “Never cut angry,” he said.
Measure twice, cut onc…get you goddam hand out of the way boy!
There’s a reason why they are moving so fast to break everything: what they are doing is wildly unpopular.
The only way the GOP House majority - such as it is - survives the mid-terms is by not having them.
Every old derrick hand I knew back in the day was missing at least two fingers. Not so much the kids today, but the old timers…it was like the red badge of courage.
What’s up with the poison water shooting back out of the uncapped wells?
If wells are not properly plugged, yes, fluid can migrate back to the surface. You’d have to be more specific.
Sometimes, the jokes write themselves.
It seems to be a problem in Texas/NM/OK…
Yeah, it was once the wild west in terms of drilling holes. Everyone and their dog was drilling and there was no oversight and even less thought for what could happen 100+ years in the future.
I could give you my insights over a few glasses of whiskey someday.
Word.
Thankfully(?) we don’t have oil in the Hill Country, so we don’t have to deal with this, but it doesn’t mean I don’t care about the rest of Texas.
The TCEQ is possibly the most worthless regulatory agency I’ve ever seen.
Give Trump a couple more weeks.
Curious, what’s your beef with them? Also, oil and gas wells and associated issues are outside their purview. That’s all Railroad Commission.
ETA: I see from that article that the TCEQ manages that well grant program, but the problems weren’t caused by them or their inability to do their job well. The real blame lies with millions of Texas voters, who wholeheartedly agree that “privatizing profits and socializing losses” is the best SOP.
Zombie wells are a hot topic in the energy insurance world.
