Musk had clearly ballsed up his microdosing yesterday and was orbiting high enough that if he was one of his Starships he’d have blown up long before. He railed against unelected people running the country - he meant judges and had no moment of realization.
But just look at this staging. There is absolutely no doubt who is in charge.
At the end of the day, impeachment will not be necessary. Trump and Musk will simply ignore his rulings or any ruling, including those of the Supreme Court, and no one will stop them.
Trump is untouchable, Musk is not. A court in California or New York could seize his assets there and he could be subject to detention in any number of blue states if things keep going the way they are.
Trump would absolutely allow it once Musk is no longer useful to him, just like a long list of other cronies that have been left twisting in the wind the last few years. How long that takes is another question entirely.
Trump doesn’t need Musk’s money anymore, and doesn’t need any help in destroying the government. It would just take a flick of a vulgarian short finger to have MAGA turn on Musk.
This might be true, but it’s strange to me how much of Trump’s oxygen Musk has taken without any pushback from Trump. It looked like Musk spent an hour holding court yesterday while Trump and the kid fidgeted around daddy’s office. That dynamic hasn’t waned.
Trump has no interest in running / destroying the government. He ran to stay out of jail, and that job is done. His corrupt bargain with Musk was that Musk would bankroll his election - to the tune of $300 million - and Trump would let him loose on the federal government. It’s notable that the agencies first targeted by DOGE all had something going against Musk; USAID that was investigating use of his StarLink service by Russia against Ukraine and was the first to go.
Meanwhile, Trump continues to prick on about Gaz-a-Lago, despite all the countries who Trump said were going to imprison take in the Palestinians telling him to do one.
“We’re gonna take it, we’re gonna hold it, we’re gonna cherish it…and call it George."
We at Big Oil have already started to rebrand everything “Gulf of America” Why? “Because that’s the policy of the United States of America. Simple as that”.
Is it though? Has there been anything formal done beyond a Tweet?
I mean, there are a shit-ton of regulations about the Gulf of Mexico that name check the “Gulf of Mexico”. Are those being updated?
I have to endorse policies with offshore exposure with a “Gulf of Mexico Extension”. What happens if an insurance company denies a claim because the policy covers the Gulf of Mexico, not the Gulf of America?
What happens to all the oilfield contracts that say “Gulf of Mexico”? Are they now voidable?
You all should hear that signs of pure elation and climax from the mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers in my profession over the new FAA Chief ordering the reversion back to the naming of Notices to Air-missions (NOTAMs- it’s how we get info about flying shit), back to its original name, Notices to Airmen.
The fuckwits who lost their shit over that naming under Biden’s administration are the same ones who loathe DEI, wokism and certain Super Bowl half time shows and still giggle at calling it a ‘cockpit.’
