Texas governor orders state’s flags raised to full-staff for Trump’s inauguration
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Monday ordered the state’s flags be raised to full staff on Inauguration Day, as President-elect Trump enters his second term in the White House.
The move disrupts the 30-day period of half-staff mourning issued by President Biden to honor the late President Carter. Biden ordered flags nationally to half-staff through sunset on Jan. 28. Abbott’s order would apply to all flags at the Texas Capitol and at state buildings on Jan. 20.

House Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed to reporters Monday there’s “been some discussion” of tying California wildfire aid to a debt limit increase, after GOP members raised the issue with Donald Trump in several meetings at the President-elect’s Florida resort this weekend.
The debt limit increase is something Trump wanted added to the funding bill that tanked a few weeks back. Basically, they know they will struggle to get it passed by the GOP so they are literally blackmailing Democrats to try to get them to pass it.
There is no Republican/Conservative in this country who has any morals or decency, and by Republican/Conservative I mean all of them, members of Congress, state lawmakers, even our neighbors, friends and family. Utterly feckless grifters who care for nothing beyond their own nose.
