“Woke” is not a term, as a liberal, I’ve EVER used to describe who I am or who I want people to be.
This is a term hijacked by the right from folks of color. Plain and simple. It’s condescending in its use by the right and the right has weaponized it and used it as a new four letter word with all the derisive connections that come along with it.
So when folks pretend like “oh, I’m so sorry I triggered you by saying “woke”” then honestly, fuck off. You know exactly what you’re doing.
“Woke” is meaningless. It’s an excuse at this point. It’s a very convenient way for people to sweep all their intolerance and bigotry under a rug. “I don’t have to be tolerant of insert minority or a group of people that can’t fight back here because I can feel the way I want to feel regardless of anyone else. You’re just a “woke” sheep”
Not only is it just plain shitty, it completely ignores the teachings of the one person most of these people claim to adore; Jesus.
Please, someone please tell me where Jesus taught us to listen to folks like Elon Musk? Or a serial adulterer, convicted felon, or a clearly greedy ass fuck like Donald Trump?
