A Republic, If You Can Keep It

I remember saying that same thing after the Bush/Cheney years. Holy shit was I wrong. Things can always be worse, it’s one of the only things you can count on in life.

I ever said that, and I’m not speaking on a hypothetical what can or can’t happen, but I am saying with no uncertainty, Ken Paxton is a far more despicable human than Chip Roy..

Proving this sentiment wrong is the GOP’s guiding principle of this century.

Some weird shit happening in El Paso. The FAA has closed the air space around the El Paso area. No air traffic for TEN days !?!?

** The FAA has classified the area as “national defense airspace” , citing “special security reasons” without further explanation.*

Apparently Trump said yesterday that military strikes in Latin America are coming up. Fort Bliss is adjacent to ELP. Reddit also says that MacDill AFB (in Tampa, home of Central Command) has been very active similar to before the Venezuela attack.

You are on to something there. This is the jingoistic tripe that was posted on the WH website 9 days ago.

I’m also sure that this is not at all related to Congress starting to view the unredacted Epstein files on Monday.

DOD yapping about cartel drones in American airspace. Likely just fabricating a reason to bomb cartels.

El Paso airport reopened, after “drone threat neutralized”.

But U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar, who represents El Paso, said Wednesday morning that it was her understanding that the decision was not due to Mexican drones, which she said is “not unusual” for the El Paso area. Escobar said she had spoken to the chair of the House Armed Services Committee, who also had not flagged any drone incursions.

“I believe the FAA owes the community and the country an explanation as to why this happened so suddenly and abruptly and why it was lifted so suddenly and abruptly,” she said.

Escobar said that she learned late the night before about the upcoming closure from a member of the federal workforce, but not from the FAA. She said that she notified local leadership in El Paso immediately, who had also not been notified.

“This was an FAA decision and was done without any local consultation and without any local communication,” Escobar said. "That is not the way the federal government should operate."Escobar previously called the FAA’s decision “highly consequential” and “unprecedented,” and said it has “resulted in significant concern within the community.”

Surely you jest!

Chip Roy and I agree on something: “there’s a movement … to overthrow the legal system and our Constitution.” But I doubt that he and I think it’s the same movement.

It’s that Sharia Law that has taken over our court system that’s he’s vowed to overthrow. It’s the top priority facing our state right now.

Duh.

Right. Their dogs have caught the abortion and immigration cars, so now they have to manufacture some other crisis they can use to distract from their actual agenda.

Following the repeal of Sharia Law in Texas, hopefully they can turn their attention to 40-year-old men competing in 12U girls cheerleading competition. That has got to stop.

And now the federal government can no longer regulate pollution:

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/climate/trump-epa-greenhouse-gases-climate-change.html

President Trump on Thursday announced he was erasing the scientific finding that climate change endangers human health and the environment, ending the federal government’s legal authority to control the pollution that is dangerously heating the planet.

The action is a key step in removing limits on carbon dioxide, methane and four other greenhouse gases that scientists say are supercharging heat waves, droughts, wildfires and other extreme weather.

Thank God they’re removing the limits on farting!

They can take our science, but they’ll never take our flatulence!!
