A Republic, If You Can Keep It

…and if they have one they don’t even differentiate between an administrative warrant and a judicial one (this has been caught on tape). And about .5% of Americans would know the difference.

Invisible paper, removable police insignia, I highly doubt they’re required to wear body cams…America, Fuck Yeah

I don’t think they’re prepared or competent enough to deal with the protests coming their way. I could be wrong, but I sure hope not. Congress has TACO Don’s stubby dick firmly in their mouth and once the courts finally finish whimpering away, we the people are all that’s left.

As of right now per the Courts, Trump has the authority to deploy the National Guard and active military wherever he deems there’s a “threat”

Our collective fate rests in the unsafe hands of Justices Kegstand and Serena Joy.

Video’s at the link, but if you want to take a moment to laugh at ICE, this is it:

Compton, CA: A masked, heavily-armed man wearing body armor jumped out of a SUV today to kidnap a local resident.

He forgot to put the vehicle in park, causing it to roll down the street damaging other cars. He jumped in the vehicle (which had no plates) and drove off without identifying himself.

As funny as this is, it does belie the underlying issue: masked and ID-less ICE agents feel they are above the law and/or anyone can dress like an ICE agent and abduct anyone they like in broad daylight.

And nobody can sue to require ID because the only people with standing have been whisked away and stashed someplace where they can’t be heard.

Yep. If ever these “arrests” see the inside of a courtroom, I’d expect a barely-competent lawyer could get most of them dismissed for multiple technical violations in the process.

What about the hit and run??? Oh right, they’re above the law.

Speaking of ID in Texas…it used to be so simple: you go early in the morning, wait in line, and you get your License/ID.

Now you have to book an appointment via their totally functional website, if you’re lucky there may be a spot for you at a DPS office within 100 miles within 5 months. The “Real ID” requirements make it even worse.

I lost my passport too, so I’m hoping the Federal process is a bit easier. [laughs in “fuck”]

Something is fundamentally wrong when I have to show higher quality ID to vote than the guy who’s snatching me off the street has to show.

There’s a dps super center a mile from my house.

Naturally we got my youngest’s permit at an office 90 miles away.

The Marble Falls office is literally 6 blocks from my mom’s house. They said I could go to Killeen

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that they look at what primary you voted in when they make their assignment.

Hmmm…but the only State primaries I’ve voted for in the past 15 years are Republican, so I can try to pick the lesser of 2 weevils

It’s telling that the victim is the only one with a body camera

There’s a DPS a few miles from my house. Last year I had to renew, scheduled an appointment on the day and time of my choosing about a week out. Walked in at my appointment time and was out within 20 minutes. From leaving my driveway to back to my driveway was about 30 minutes. It was far, far superior to the old method where you showed up at 7:00 am, waited three hours to get a number, then waited another four or five hours to get to the window. Everyone’s mileage may vary, however.

I’m glad that worked out for you

btw: where is your house/DPS office?

I’m pretty sure I renewed my Texas driver’s license by mail 2 years ago last January.
