Coincidentally, Maddow did a piece about Trump’s health last night, and how he is surviving on a cocktail of drugs which he gets for free and which has made more expensive for everyone else, while closing doors on future developments.
In the piece she does talk about how Trump has lost weight and moved from “obese” to “overweight”, on which I call bullshit. That is based on the published readings from his physicals, which are utter bollocks.
As an aside, the research by the doctor interviewed in this piece shows how dopamine is an important factor in regulating weight. So chalk up to ADHD another negative factor in my life. Yay.
Trump fired the Librarian of Congress - which he has no authority to do because “Congress” - and is now trying to install his odious toady defense attorney Todd Blanche as the new librarian.
This seems like a silly fight and Congress will rubber stamp whatever Trump does, but there is something much more serious and sinister here.
The Library is the receptacle of record for all published materials - paper or digital. If Congress needs to reference any such materials, the example in the Library of Congress is the only one it can use. So if it’s not there or it’s changed, that’s it.
Trump is literally trying to take control of history so that he can rewrite it to his own liking.

Trump is lifting sanctions on Syria. The country’s new leader - a former al Qaeda fighter known to have killed US troops among countless others - has agreed to allow a Trump Tower to be built.
I’m sure these two things are unrelated.
