Trump announces his much-touted trade deal. It’s with the UK and seems at this point to be a relaxation of some tariffs - but not the 10% baseline - with everything else TBD. Trump described this as a “maxed-out deal” while the Brits called it “a starting point”.
Basically, the two first-world governments most desperate to strike a trade deal of note with a peer have announced that they really trying to make a trade deal. No shit.

The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency was fired Thursday morning, according to two people with direct knowledge of the situation.
Cameron Hamilton, FEMA’s acting administrator, has told people that he was terminated, leaving the nation’s disaster agency without a top official three weeks before the start of the Atlantic hurricane season and as Congress scrutinizes FEMA’s proposed budget for fiscal 2026.
Hamilton was summoned to Department of Homeland Security headquarters in Washington on Thursday morning and told of his termination by Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Troy Edgar and Corey Lewandowski, a longtime adviser to President Donald Trump, according to a person with direct knowledge.

Given that the Trump administration loves to bludgeon people as being antisemitic for…well…anything, it was particularly pointed that Murphy “reminded” Noem that our asylum laws were put in place because the US had once rejected the pleas of Jewish asylum-seekers from Europe, and returned them to the Nazis.

Fun fact: shortages of goods from China is baked in at this point. If Trump removed the tariffs right now, it will take a month or two to restart the idled supply chain; assuming everyone jumps right to it.
The secondary issue is that everyone would not jump right to it, because Trump cannot be believed and/or trusted not to slap on tariffs again on a whim. Shelves will empty and only fill sporadically, if at all, until someone takes the keys away from this lunatic toddler.
In the meantime, the stock market will probably spike upon opening, which is mostly meaningless to everyone except the friends and family who were given the heads up about forthcoming tariff relaxation.

Well, sorta. The 4 USS Truman incidents are: One F-18 went overboard when the arresting wire failed. One F-18 went overboard as it was being towed across the flight deck. One F-18 was accidentally shot down by another US ship and the last incident was the Truman ran over another boat.
The USS Truman needs to get its shit together or it will find itself renamed the USS Trump in a heartbeat.
