I guess the good news is that if Elon goes to war with China he’ll very likely be too distracted to follow through with the invasion of any of the places we’re considering hiding out in. Bad news is iPhones are gonna get fucking expensive. Life is a series of trade-offs, I reckon.

California senator Adam Schiff on Kimmel in a bit. I’m not much of a late night talk show fan, but watching Kimmel skewer the current state of political BS these days gives me great pleasure. I try to catch him every night anymore.
I’m about 17 layers of furious…some TX State Rep from around Waco has introduced a bill to abolish the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, split it up and let other Agencies take over their various duties.
It’s all because of captive “deer breeding” industry, TPWD rightfully hates it, as does most landowners, high-fenced ranch people love it and treat wildlife like livestock.
Only problem is Chronic Wasting Disease, which is a prion disease, the ungulate version of “mad cow”, or Creutzfelt-Jakob.
The only way you can get CWD is by transporting deer from state-to-state for breeding purposes. If this stuff gets in the wild, and it will unless there are laws to prevent the practice, the minute they test it in wild populations, it will decimate the ~1.5B annual hunting industry in TX, and every town that relies upon it.

My first reaction is “that bill doesn’t stand a chance,” then I saw the other story that Syd Miller is jumping behind that bill or similar bills. Well, if some of the lunatics like the bill, I suppose it has a shot.
