In the early 80s the Padres moved their AA to Beaumont.
They were the Golden Gators. Their hats were in that style and uses I had one and loved it.

The night Ohio State played Miami for the championship, about 15 years ago, Maurice Clarrett was the OSU RB.
I got a group to head down to Gās Icehouse. It was a rough drive, David AC was playing that night, there was a confederate battle flag behind the band when I walked in yeehah.
I do like a few of his songsā¦not the shitass oneās he played that night.

1981 my buddy Rick was on his honeymoon in Florida and DAC was staying at the same hotel. After an evening of too many drinks, Rickās wife begged and bugged Rick into knocking on DACās door and asking for an autograph. Rick walked down the hall, knocked on the door. After a moment he was greeted by an angry looking wild-man asking, āWhat the hell?ā Rick replied, āWell sir, my wife and I are on our honeymoon and weāre fans (a lie), so I was wondering if I might be able to get your autograph for her?ā DAC says, āOkay, here.ā And he took a swing and hit Rick on the side of his head and then slammed the door in his face. No autograph was obtained.
ETA: Just exchanged texts with Rick, he said I misremembered, .āCoe didnāt punch me, one of security dudes did, popped me right in mouthā¦it happened at the marina in key West. And I will add Iām glad that fucker diedā¦his music sucked

His output beyond the mid-80s is mostly disreputable but he sure had some gems before then. Longhaired Redneck was stuck in my car cassette deck (on purpose) for upwards of a year.
