Those guys on the ground were amazing.
Just watched the Netflix documentary about the Apollo 13 mission last night.
Good stuff.
If you are a space wonk and havenāt already read Gene Kranzās book, I highly recommend it. It has some great insights into the entire space program. Smylie was one of hundreds that saved the 13 crew.

Norm!
Boooo
Somewhere out there Cliff is talking some shit
āNorm! what are you up to?!?!ā
My ideal weight if I was 7 feet tall?
Sorry, this is the greatest bit ever. Wish there was more Norm
āIām a simple man, I donāt ask for much. Give me a nice comfortable chair, a cool breeze, a ballgame on the radio and an ice-cold beer, and I couldnāt be happier,ā Wendt wrote to open the book.
āTruth be told, if it came down to it, I could live without the chair. A cool breeze is nice, but it isnāt exactly mandatory for a good time. And there are plenty of times when I donāt have access to a ballgame.
āBut a world without beer? I donāt know if thatās the kind of world I want to live in.ā
āCan I pour you another beer, Mr. Peterson?ā
āKind of early, isnāt it Woody?ā
āFor beer?ā
āNo, for stupid questions.ā
I loved Cheers and of course Norm.
In honor of his bar mate, hereās a little known fact:
Jason Sudekis is George Wendtās nephew.
Whoa
Morn, the character thatās always at Quarkās Bar in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, was inspired by Norm.
Well, we know the cause of death.
Oops, wrong thread.
Not quite as little known a fact, but Wendt passed away on the 32md anniversary of the last episode of Cheers.
