2024 Dead Pool

What a shame.

I just now learned that he had a country music career, can’t say I’ve ever heard a song of his

Longtime Major Leaguer, and former batting title winner, Rico Carty, 85

Beeg Boy,

Oh, man. He played for the Austin Braves one season in 1963 and was too good for the Texas League. Some roster rule snafu caused the parent club to leave him in Austin all season. He battered opposing pitchers-32 doubles, 27 homers, 100 RBI. Carty was a catcher then.

That sucks

Bummer. When I lived in Travis Heights, on my way home from work, I had a tendency to stop off at the Continental on Toni Tuesdays. She was a really good singer with a unique voice.

Yup

Jim Abrahams, 80.

I don’t think I’ll ever get over Macho Grande.

The late great Hal Lindsey.

An early practitioner of right-wing religious wack-a-doodle. I was a teenage dishwasher in a Chinese restaurant and that guy was always on the radio. The chef was certain it was all going to end any day now.

I read about his passing and lamented about what a great show Barney Miller was. Then I realized, that was Hal Linden, who is still alive and kicking.

Same here. I was a bit sad because i loved Barney Miller as a young lad but now that you pointed out it really was really just a piece of shit human being I’m happier because the world stench has lessened.

Hal Lindsey was a real piece of…work. A charlatan and a greedy asshole. Only speak good of the dead. Hal Lindsey is dead. Good.

Lou Carnasecca, 99.

I was watching a program about the early years of the Big East just the other day. I started investigating the various coaches from that era and was very surprised to discover that he was still living.

Look what all that poking around got us.
