Oh gosh no. They were pretty bad to mediocre when he took over and haven’t had a winning season since he left. He WAS Rice baseball.
Sergio Mendes
Damn. Brazil '66 was an absolute hit factory. I wonder if his music might be taken more seriously if it weren’t quite so popular.
That whole style of music is great, it’s impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to it.
James Earl Jones, 93. Dammit.
Legendary
Giant. Life well lived.
I find his lack of life disturbing.
I loved him in Marty Feldman’s, Last Remake of Beau Geste.
Tonight’s movie: The Hunt for Red October.
As an aside, it’s crazy to think that Jones wasn’t credited on the original Star Wars because he didn’t want to be. He considered his contribution to be akin to a sound effect.
If you’ve ever heard Dave Prowse’s on set dialogue - which is about as intimidating as a pot plant - the absurdity of Jones’ reticence will be apparent.
Ed Kranepool.
Rockets GM, assistant coach, Baylor head coach, scout for the Dallas Cowboys… quite the life in sports.
Watched him play for Baylor at the Heart O’Texas Colosseum.
Classic.
Godspeed, James Earl Jones.
No, I don’t.
OK. Star Wars is closer in time to the Silent Film Era than it is to today.
