Oh I’m pretty sure I ran you off that board at some point.
I knew Eric (Hans) when he was at the Black Labrador Pub. When he first opened Hans’, there were many nights I was the only guy in the bar. I miss those days. And that place.
The Black Lab was also awesome. Loved the library and Cezanne upstairs.
I’d meet my dad there for lunch from time to time, he was a big fan of the french dip.
Is the Volcano still around?
Kay’s, Under the Volcano, TK Bittermans, Bama Icehouse, Ernie’s on Banks, G-man…those were the places we frequented when I lived in that area.
When waa this? I frequented almost all of those places from 91 - 96.
94-200?
Huh. We probably ran across each other a few times.
Cancer: “I didn’t do it.”
Jeff the bartender at Kay’s was and is my Astros Buddy. We have stories.
My friends and I spent many evenings at Kay’s in the 70s. I think it may have been the first actual bar I went to.
We had lecture in our crystal chemistry class at the G-man on occasion. Nothing like learning about refractive index over a couple of pints of Young’s Bitter (Dr. Reid’s favourite).
Robin MacNeil, giant of journalism, aged 93.
I like this one better. It’s as if he’s reading the chyron and is sad about it.
Yankee pitcher and wife swapper, Fritz Peterson.
I didn’t realize he was still with us.
Ken Holtzman
Last no hitter without a strike out. Impressive
That had to be one of the most fun games to watch ever.
Strikeouts are fascist.
