You can see how Bregman is damaging the team from the win/loss percentage. They’d be doing a bunch better if Bregman were batting 7th.
I don’t know if you are being serious or not but regardless of the W-L record the team is on pace to score 200 runs less than last year.
Everyone here has seen game after game of anemic offense.
Bregman has a SLG of .292 vs LH pitching. Maldonado is .286 !!!
The #3 hitter in a lineup needs to be a run producer
The team is not scoring runs like it has in the past as as it should.
Bregman’s toothpick bat in the #3 spot vs LHP is a major reason why.
And FYI Bregman is my favorite player.
I guess that means they’ll lose 200 more games?
Fangraphs had Astros playoffs chances at 85.7% ans 9.8% to win World Series on 4/6/22
FYI 99.4% and 13.2% now
If next year
K.Lee and Maldy share catcher
Matijevic and/or Jones is 1B
Meyers, Leon, Tucker, McCormick is the OF with Alvarez
Valdez or Hensley on bench
What are playoff odds?
Do the Astros need another veteran in one ( or more) of those spots?
I enjoy being the GM of the Astros as much as anyone, but can we get through this season first?
13.2% seems high with the Yankees juggernaut standing between them and the WS and then the Dodgers waiting for them afterwards.
Exactly 78.5714whythehellarewediscussingthis%
It’s a subject that is about the Astros, interests me, and I think about a lot.
If I’m wrong please let me know but, just like my feelings on many posts here, I think people can comment if they are like minded and ignore it if they aren’t.
OWA’d
as my father taught me as younster, the game is never over until the last man is out. Passed away in november, a very good man.
Seriously? Half the position players are rookies in your mind? Amazing!
I’ll bite. You’re wrong.
That’s exactly my point.
Without trading or or signing a veteran that’s what the 2023 team is looking like.
That’s exactly why I am interested in what may happen
Perhaps this is something you should temper. Very few people here, maybe no one, want to talk about next year when this year is far from decided. People say this with varying degrees of tact to every one of your posts like this.
Thanks.
That’s abundantly clear.
It just sucks that if people don’t have an interest they don’t just keep to themselves
Instead they feel they need to try to censor me and tell me what I am allowed to post.
Nothing offensive about what I post and it’s always about my Astros fandom.
If I am breaking the rules of this site then have the admin tell me or kick me off.
I’ll just need to ignore them.
Dammit, stop the “oh poor pitiful me.” No one tries to censor you. They simply are not interested in talking about next year in June.
The reality of this environment is that when you express an option and ask a question, if people agree you might get a comment, they might just click the heart or just say a quiet amen to them selves and move on.
If they don’t agree, they will usually express why they disagree. There is no dislike button
So much can change via trade and free agency and we know the front office is pursuing options we have no idea about. Let’s see where we after the World Series is over and then talk about next year.
Also consider this the 22 roster thread.
Not that we stay on topic on any thread, but speculation about subsequent years might be better received on another thread.
Or not.
You takes your chances.
Idk what the hell you are talking about. We always stay precisely on topic on every thread.
Anyway I really think the Astros might have a problem in 2031, Verlander will be nearly 50 by then and I’m not sure if Whitley will be ready yet
I don’t run the site but I don’t feel there’s anything wrong at all with what you post. Continue what you’re doing, Jim. I may not agree with what you write but I do read it.
However I do think AstrosFanInBigD’s idea of setting up a separate thread to discuss what moves should be made for 2023 and beyond is a good one. For those not interested in focusing beyond this season it makes it easier for them to skip.
