The Athletic did a staff draft back on July 7 with the Astros selecting Blake Tidwell. For whatever that’s worth.

The bonus pools and slot values were revised ever so slightly in the past few days so adjusting this accordingly. Also that increase in the threshold for rounds 11-20 to $150K does not actually apply until 2023 so I’ve also adjusted for that…

Matt Holliday’s kid is the #1 pick by the Orioles.

BA and Keith Law nailed that one.

And Andruw Jones’ kid goes #2 to the D-Backs.

BA and Law again get that pick right.

Woah, Kumar Rocker goes #3 to the Rangers.

Highest any of the mocks had him going was #13 by Longenhagen.

Just to keep the theme let’s say that he’s John Rocker’s kid.

Termarr Johnson at #4 to the Pirates.

Three of the top four picks are HSers.

Three of the top four picks are African American.

Elijah Green at #5 to the Nats. Son of former NFLer Eric.

Four of the top five picks are African American.

Ex U of Arizona & LSU star Jacob Berry at #6 to the Marlins.

First SEC selection (unless you want to argue that Rocker is).

Late riser OU RHP Cade Horton at #7 to the Cubs.

First Big 12 selection.

Some of the top-ranked Texas HSers. I doubt the Astros pick any of these guys but I am curious to see where they might go…

Earliest any of the mocks had him was at #20 to the Braves.
