2022 ALDS Game 1

Ryan Roland-Smith former Astros farmhand in 2011.

Regardless of his history, which I did not know, I still did not get the clip.

Made me think of Major League… Jake Taylor tells the opposing hitter, on a Ricky Vaughn fastball: “That sucker was moving, wasn’t it? If it hit you it’d leave a two-foot hole coming out.”

There is a great highlight package on YouTube entitled “Astros Complete Comeback.” It includes a camera focused on Servais when Ray delivered the pitch. Priceless.

USU article from Monday saying Robbie Ray would be Seattle’s difference-maker in the ALDS, which was an excellent choice

He’s definitely made a difference so far.

Really good piece of hitting. Reminds me of Chris Taylor’s single off Devo that tied G5 in ‘17.

I recommend you watch the whole video.

Several Astros made a point to compliment Hensley and Peña for outstanding ABs to get Alvarez to the plate. That recognition of rookies by veterans is an intangible which makes this team and organization great.

Hilarious!

I like that he knew to come prepared with an undershirt

At least the shirt underneath wasn’t a Yankees jersey.

Agent Ray?

The TBS coverage of the aftermath of the Alvarez blast was excellent.

I’ve watched this video about 1000 times and keep noticing little things that make it even better:

Currently my favorite is Vasquez skipping down the first base line like a 6 year old playing hopscotch to join the fracas at home.

Nope, my new favorite is Montero losing his hat as the mob is moving away from home and him delicately going and picking it up to put it back on while carrying a towel like a waiter for no reason.

JV runs in at the 32 second mark.

Oh, that’s a great catch! Nice!

Clearly sprinting from the clubhouse.

Altuve backing away from the mob so he does not get trampled.
