My one slight edit is: Raley DFA, all teams pass, he goes to Sugarland or Corpus and continues to work with the Astros brain trust on a reset for the balance of the year and in the off-season. Storm sees something in him so that catches my attention, despite his abysmal performance this year.
Pressly on paternity.
Abreu recalled.
According to Cotâs contracts the Astros are just over 3 mil away from the luxury ta threshhold.
Do performance bonuses count 100% towards that?
A few players, specifically Yuli and Graveman come to mind, have some bonuses that probably will be added to the payroll.
For example: Yuli gets a total of $1.9 mil if he gets 550Pa. He needs to avg just over 2 PA per game the rest of the season, and has already earned $800K of it.
Yep, I assumed he would eventually accept an assignment in the Astros org.
ETA: assuming he did not get claimed. I thought that was a given in my statement. Guess not.
I doubt he makes it through waivers. Most pitchers donât unless they are hurt
I would agree that he would likely get snatched up
That may not he a big thing, though.
Not quite.
There s/b a set of âquotesâ book ending what you want to quote:

Hope this helps.
Once you do it, itâs easy.
I just did a quick ranking of the 15 guys who are still in the organization and have pitched this year, or just been acquired.
I simply ranked them 1-15 and totalled the 6 catagories on this yearâs numbers for: BA against, OPS against, BB%, K%, HR%, and IR scored.
Ranks 1-15
Pressly
Graveman
Javier
Stanek
Y.Garcia
Maton
Abreu
Taylor
Top 8 are a 13 man staff
Paredes
Bielak
Raley
Montero
Solomon
Scrubb
Garza
That should show just how awful Raley and Scrubb have been after solid seasons last year.
Nobody with Raleyâs spin (much less a lefty) would get through waivers. ~20 teams would want a shot at fixing him. Heâs the exact kind of guy the Astros would claim if they had the chance. But he isnât getting out right now, and right now is when the Astros need outs. So if you DFA him and he gets claimed and turns into the next Josh Hader or whatever, so be it.
Yes.
Ralph Garza DFAâd to make room for Josh James coming off the 60-day DL.
Ralph got his win, and I am glad.
Yes, one of the feel good aspects of the season.
His last big league strikeout was against Aaron Judge and then Altuve hit the grand slam.
Astros waiver claim: Jacob Wilson.
Looks like Bregman-insurance at 3B.
