Yordan…
Just think. In two weeks we get to add Josh James to this bullpen!
I’m confused. Up above it says he was transferred to the 60-day IL. Now maybe that’s retroactive to some day way in the past so the number of days doesn’t really matter, but isn’t the real part of that move opening up a spot on the 40-man roster for somebody else (like Garza)? If they want to take James of the 60-day list, won’t they have to DFA somebody else?
Or maybe they just assume they’ll have to somebody else to add to the 60-day list by that point, which probably isn’t a bad assumption given the way this season is going.
It is retroactive to April 1st (Opening Day), when he was put on the 10-day IL
Yes, they will have to make a roster move, DFA or trade or IL, when James comes back.
Maybe the preliminary reports on Emanuel aren’t so good?
Surely hope not, have enjoyed seeing his drive…
I know this SHOULD be obvious and I may get ridiculed for posting it but I think it’s extreme enough to point out.
Nearly 1/3 of the way into the season:
Astros score 6+ runs 40% of the time but are 0-17 when they give up 6 or more.
They are 15-0 when they score 7+ (18-1 when they score 6+)
They are 11-0 when the starter goes at least 7 innings and a very good 16-4 when the starter goes at least 6.
Of course the counter of that is they are 9-21 when they score less than 6 and 11-18 when the SP does not go at least 6 IP.
And to emphasize the damage of accumulated use of the bullpen: they are 4-11 the game AFTER a starter goes less than 5.
Simple: score more runs and use the bullpen less and this team would be an all-time great. ( that was supposed to be tongue in cheek)
I think they are also undefeated in games where they score more than the opponent.
There is that Advanced Analytics again.
I wonder what other teams records look like in this same vein.
Yordan is playing left field tonight.
This is not a drill.
I’m less convinced on this. All reports were that he was a butcher at first.
Not true. I actually saw him play.
That’s reassuring
What does one have to do to be called “a butcher” at first base?
Beats me, but I recall reading that he could not play the position.
Who said that? You said “all reports.” There were many? Who?
Yes, the standard beat writer reports.
First base is not that hard, tell him Wash
No, no, no. Standard beat writers know all.
