Wow, massive baserunning incompetence by the Braves: 1st and 3rd, 1 out, easy sac fly to LF, runner on 1st inexplicably decided to also tag and is thrown out before the run can score from 3B (runner was going all out too)
Right. And there’s a specific rule prohibiting a runner from intentionally interfering with a thrown ball, which apparently isn’t reviewable.
You would think running towards the pitcher’s mound from the left batters box is a fairly obvious manifestation of intent not to run to first, much less sticking your arm out and insuring that the ball was deflected away from the catcher would be all that one needs to confirm the intent.
What I haven’t seen an answer to is whether they could have reviewed replay themselves prior to making the call in the first place, rather than having the customary umpire circle jerk be the be all end all.
C’mon Tony, if you or Tepera or anyone else think that the other team is stealing your signs, whether legally or illegally–just change your fucking signs.
Brewers just had 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Pulled Peralta for a pinch hitter who hit weak grounder that resulted in runner on third making an out in a rundown. And end up with no runs.
