Yankees at Astros 6/30/22

Top 9:

Pressly on.
TK kindly reminds us that Pressly shit the bed in this portion of the order.
Torres lines one right at Yuli. One down.
HPU tells the Yankee dugout to STFU.
Trevino K swinging at a high slider
Carpenter PH for Kiner-Falerfa. I maintain that the mustache looks like Freddy Mercury.
The sellout crowd gets to their feet!
Carpenter K for the 1-2-3 ninth and ASTROS WIN!

Tucker’s Boner did not stab us in the ass. We can all be grateful.

Thankfully we did not pay extra for that action.

What a game!

I think the biggest question coming out of tonight’s win is, how was the Appleton 12?

I dunno, but the cheap beach pina colada was very effective.

7 and 2 in this stretch is frankly beyond what my hopes were heading in.

Some fantastic pitching.

Winning when you only get three hits does not suck.

7-2 against the two greatest teams in the history of baseball, and it shoulda been 8-1 and coulda been 9-0.

I feared that the pitching would collapse when Strom left.
So far, those fears are misplaced.

Blum with an excellent point: winning with Yordan and Peña on the bench is pretty damn good.

The Astros as a team are damn good. They just reminded the entire league over the last nine games. If the bullpen holds two of the games in New York they could have won all of them.

Again, the other guys get paid. The Yankees have consistently come back this year. It says more to me that we went 7-2 despite those comebacks.

They do, and I’m not upset by the two losses. But, it speaks to how good this team is that they were in a strong position to win all nine.

Not a fan. I too do not like creamy cocktails, and I despise coconut like a punch in the junk.

I did not complain about the last loss in NY. They rallied and beat us without any help. That first one, though, was different for me. Pressly walking the first two in the 9th? No way. That one is in my “shoulda won” category.

I think this must be a genetic thing, like cilantro, but I’ve never seen it proven.

It’s a good thing we did well in this stretch, because now the greatest player who ever was and ever will be is coming to town.
