Hey, I would have said the same before tonight’s game.
Which one was “I can do what I want”, and what was it the other one said?

Kulpa was I can do whatever I want.
Hallion has just been a dumpster fire.
I completely agree!
That’s an insult to dumpster fires sir. Dumpster fires at least keep people warm
Kulpa was really solid. If that’s what he wants to do, he can keep doing it.
The next game will likely be a different story.
I had a blast sitting next to Leslie and Jo Ann (@Astrojo). Very grateful to be in attendance.
I’m happy that Urquidy pounded the zone and pitched well, the bullpen was nails and the Astros’ bats came alive. They played well in all phases after doing the exact opposite in game 1.
My impression of game 1 is that the Braves also caught a lot of breaks: making good contact on some good pitches, sneaking hits through the shift, well-placed soft contact, etc. I didn’t get to watch the first half of game 2, but it seemed many breaks went the other way this time.
Fun day yesterday in Houston. Beer at Equal Parts Brewery and dinner at Ninfa’s, both with HH, then the game. Even our seatmates were good. Great day.

Por qué no los dos?
My day always gets better when I read an “All About Eve” quote.
Eh, I have a decent record there also.

They certainly did.
“I think I told Siri that his broken-bat single, the way he ran to first and then the first-to-third and the scoring, was probably what gave us the win tonight,” Altuve said. “He just plays hard every day. He brings energy to our team. He’s just happy he had a good game and helped us win.”

energy…and joy!

Apparently Ron can actually do what he wants. Including be a good umpire.
It’s a good problem to have, but there will be decisions made about CF in 2022.
But as for now, I still say Alvarez, Tucker, and Brantley left to right the next 3 days.
Gotta keep the foot on the gas and all of those bats need to be in the lineup.
If it goes to game 6 then decide between McCormick and Siri.
Also, with no starter expected to go more than 5-6 innings and no DH, the bats ( and legs) on the bench will be more important.
It seemed to me that the strike zone was very fair last night. Maybe just a little wide mid-way up, but same way for both teams.
To me, “the same for both teams” is the key.
Because most Astros hitters have better than average strike zone judgement, bad umpiring always will hurt them more than the other team
But when the bad calls are not equal is when it’s really a back breaker.
Kulpa didn’t have his typical bad game. I wouldn’t go start nominating him for umpire of the year
