World Series 2021

Yeah. That’s a nice plan and all, but all that matters is the 27 outs the Astros need to get in game 6. Every decision is subject to tonight’s situation.

Of course you are right.

You must win Game 6 first and if Maton, Yimi, or Stanek are dealing and can go 2 scoreless then you must roll the dice.

I was just thinking leaving bullets in the gun, like Pressly only getting into one of the games because someone else pitches too much BUT then that pitcher not being available for a game 7 would be shooting yourself in the foot.

But I completely agree with you. My logic is idealistic and flawed.

Must get to game 7 period.

Game 6 only.

Can’t hold anything back.

Remember Verlander pitched relief in game 4 in the 17 ALDS.

And let’s hope there are no extra innings

Good to have the last AB if there are.

If the bats traveled we’ve got a great shot.

If the Astros hit, they’ll win. If they’re hot, they’ll hit anybody. If they’re not, they’ll not hit anybody.

We have plenty of weapons on the pitching staff to get the job done. The big question for me is our offense. If we come out swinging we will have a dang good shot at seeing a game 7. They need to be aggressive on the bases too.

The postseason is a different animal, but

My observation is that if a 6.00ERA pitcher that they have never seen or not seen in a while is on the mound, they can’t hit to save their balls.

But they just saw every pitcher the Braves have in the past week.

I am hopeful.

I don’t care if Marwin strikes out the side in the 38th inning as long as we get the win.

Just find a way to get to game 7 tomorrow night. Don’t care how.

Bang some trash cans?

I’ll show myself out…

This Clark is gonna keep it simple. Luis Garcia gets 3 up and 3 down to start the game – and let our bats take it from there. Best not be too greedy for the baseball gods.

Some possible background on Bregman’s slump:
(Note: Apologies if this is old news, just ran across these articles today)

Per this SI article,

…Bregman’s offensive slide started before the playoffs. He batted just .113 and slugged .226 over his final 14 games of the regular season,…

This article suggests

“…The top hand—Bregman’s right hand—generates power. Bregman has a career slugging percentage of .507. Since Sept. 17, that figure is .273. He has lost six miles per hour of average exit velocity since August…”

Not a highlighted play from 17 Sep 21, but it shows up on the CG video (2:18 - fixed link.) - Bregman dove for a grounder that deflects off his glove to Siri (CF).
Could this have been the injury?

Bregman has hand surgery (RH).
