White Sox @ Astros, April 1, 2023

This guy Tim Anderson is starting to get on my nerves.

Moncada just gave the Astros a gift. Have to take advantage and get Hensley home.

Come on Jeremy: Get a good pitch to hit and do some damage.

Peña!

Tied up.

Thank you Jeremy for not wasting Moncada’s generosity.

Great running to get to 2nd.

Why the heck are the White Sox challenging that? It’s not close.

Alex: Now would be a great time for your first hit of the season.

Maybe they wanted to get someone up in the pen.

Side note from that inning:

Diaz up with a man on 2nd/no outs.

Every swing was of the big-damage type, even down 1-2.

And he rolled over on one to short failing to advance the runner.

Situational hitting is barely a thing anymore.

Now get off my lawn.

My wife has a weird and irrational dislike of Blanco. It’s weird because I’m not entirely sure she could name a single other Astro with the possible exception of Altuve.

Nasty slider from Blanco to Benintendi for the swinging strikeout.

Perhaps. I just wouldn’t use my challenge this early on a play that was very likely to stand.

I will defend Blanco’s honor to Mrs Chuck if he continues to pitch like that.

Agreed about Diaz and situational hitting in today’s MLB. Manufacturing runs has become a lost art in the last 5-10 years. Maybe the rules changes bring it back.

Is Julks adjusting his swings?

Fixin to go into the other room and straighten her out once and for all.

Julks with 2 out and a man on 2nd …

And new pitcher.

Hopefully we get a mound visit before the first pitch like they did last night.

3 flat changeups in the same spot.

3 swings and misses.

Fuck Joe Kelley.

Not an ideal at bat by Julks there with Chas on third.

A Ryne Stanek sighting!
