Yep about $5 for the whole meal
My first apartment in Seoul was a few blocks from a lamb skewer street in a mini-Chinatown so I’ve been going to this same place for about 8 years now. A family from Harbin runs it and always gives me free food. Uyghurs don’t really have a noticeable presence here but if you go to the Central Asian part of Seoul known as Mongoltown you can find the food at some of Uzbek and Kazakh places or even a few items on the menu at the few Tibetan restaurants that are around.
Is this the worst brisket in Christendom?
Cornyn’s wife’s brisket was bad. But that meat look like a commercial for a jinsu knife cutting through a brick.
Show the jury on the doll where that cow hurt you.
It’s not John Cornyn bad, but it looks pretty bad.
I had forgotten about that abomination.
Matt shot a Uzbek in Mongoltown just to watch him die.
I’ve got an important announcement.
Hot Springs is getting a Whataburger.
Of course I’ll have to drive past my cardiologist and take the Bypass (!) to get there, but hey, Whataburger.
We live in Katy (TX) and suffered from not having a Whataburger close enough for takeout but at the end of last year one was built in a shopping center a mile from us and I’ve gained several pounds. One of my daughters even gave me a Whataburger gift card for Christmas so I can maintain my weight overage. I’m addicted to the patty melts.
I single-handedly attempted to keep open the lone Whataburger that showed up in Tampa a decade or so ago. I failed but it sure was fun.
I’ll trade you two Whataburgers for Deluca’s Pizza.
I grew up in Corpus, went to High School with the daughter of the WB founder and have an appreciation for Whataburger but I don’t get excited about one anymore. I don’t think they are as good since the Chicago outfit took over. Now their green chili WB is quite nice.
DeLuca just announced a new Little Rock location that he’s opening this spring. We’ll see if he can keep up the quality; he says he’s going to shuttle between both locations.
The rare times I’ve gone to Texas lately, I always stop at the Whataburger in Texarkana for one last burger. That location has been pretty disappointing.
There should really be a “tortilla” setting on microwaves so you can reheat them.
One setting for corn and a different setting for flour.
What did those poor tortillas do yo y’all that you would subject them to a microwave?
Rick Bayless preferred method to prep corn tortillas for enchiladas: lightly oil both sides of your tortillas, stack them, put in unsealed ziploc bag and microwave on high for 1 minute (for 8 tortillas).
His method for reheating corn tortillas for serving: Dribble 3 tablespoons of water over a clean kitchen towel, then wrap your cold tortillas in it (you can also use damp paper towels). Slide the package into a microwaveable plastic bag and fold the top over-don’t seal it. Microwave at 50% power for 4 minutes to create a steamy environment around the tortillas. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
If I’m making a couple of tacos, especially with flour tortillas, I just use the cast iron comal.
Ok, I had never considered forming a steam bag. That’s why he’s Rick Bayless and I’m not.
They were so many. Fresh is better, but I’m not letting good tortillas from Friday night go to waste on Saturday morning.
