I absolutely love empanadas, particularly fried ones if they’ve been done right. I wish you luck!
Free chicken sammich at Chick-Fil-A today courtesy of Paredes’ dinger off the pole last night, if you’re so inclined.
In football season in Alabama, CFA gives something away if one of Auburn or Alabama score a home touchdown. It used to be a sandwich all the time, last year it was a sandwich the first week, then it was less expensive items like fries or a drink. I know people who don’t care about football (they do exist in Alabama contrary to popular belief) who open their CFA app on Saturdays to see what the reward is.
I just can’t get into Chick-fil-A. My kids and my wife clamor incessantly for it and every time I begrudgingly get something from there, I am underwhelmed. If I am going the fast food route, it’s pretty far down the list of places I would willingly choose. I want to like it, but it’s just not really a thing for me.
Their chicken biscuit isn’t bad. Other than that, they’re…fine. They’re also pretty quick at the drive thru so there’s that. It’s not as overrated as say In-N-Out burger, but yeah…it’s…fine. Not a place you’d seek out.
I totally agree. It’s just not very good. If I want fast food fried chicken, Popeyes or even Cane’s are right around the corner from any Chick Fil A.
The service, however, is much better at CFA.
Popeye’s dropped a nuclear soup bone on everyone during the Chicken Sandwich War.
Ever tried Layne’s? Their menu is just like Cane’s but their chicken is somewhat seasoned.
Given the choice between Popeyes and CFA I’ll pick Popeyes every time, but I do like CFA quite a bit. I think if you bread and fry a piece of chicken I’m just going to like it no matter what.
CFA > Cane’s purely on having an awareness that seasoning exists
In-N-Out is not overrated. That’s probably not the most popular comments in these parts, but I stand by it.
Depends on how it’s rated.

Pretty low.

The burgers are great, the fries suck, and they don’t sell anything else.

CFA > Cane’s purely on having an awareness that seasoning exists
Cane’s sauce goes a long way.
I do tip my cap to CFA for having a good non-fried chicken option for when the kids are clamoring for it. Toss the grilled nuggets with buffalo sauce and eat with the kale salad. Definitely one of the best non-unhealthy fast-food options out there.

I think if you bread and fry a piece of chicken I’m just going to like it no matter what.
I haven’t run across Layne’s but I’ll keep my eye peeled. I think your sentence above is one of the truest sentiments expressed on this board. All fried chicken matters.
My first experience with Layne’s was fantastic.
My second was disappointing.
The third was worse than the second.
Well, I guess you and Kara share that unfortunate opinion.
@Bench order the fries well done and the burgers animal style or whole grilled onion. Heaps better than the vast majority of fast food. And the shakes are pretty goddamn good too.
In&Out “secret sauce” is horrible. Their burgers are pretty damn good.
Air Fryer recommendations? I think I’m gonna buy one just to have another kitchen contraption to play with.
Doesn’t need to be huge, as I usually cook for 1 or 2 and have no counter space to put it while not in use, so it will get cleaned and put back in the box on a shelf.
We have one. The only thing I’ve figured out it’s good for is frozen French fries.
