One of the things I miss about living in Central Texas is at least it rained more often than here in SoCal.
And there weren’t so many fucking hated dojer fans.
Thankfully, no Guv Hotwheels/Abbott, though.

I’ve had a persistent leak in my flat roof for over 20 years, ever since I’ve owned the house. The ceiling was repaired and it had a brand new roof when I moved in. We get big rains in So Cal, but almost never more than one period (which can last weeks) per year, and little to no rain for multiple years running. So, the leak only shows up in big rains. Two new roofs later, nobody has found the leak source yet.
A small piece of the ceiling is down and just patched to make it look a little better. Every couple of years I’ve got my head in the ceiling with a flash light and I’m up on the roof with some Henry’s.
Over the years, I’ve successfully fixed several leaks, but “Old Faithful” still eludes me. I probably won’t get another chance until next year as March is almost over.
He’s lucky he was on the north (slower) side of the circulation of that very small tornado. How in the world did he not see it approaching out the drivers side window and allow himself to be caught light that??? And, the driver filming is insane being that close and getting closer still as he filmed.
Can’t speak to the driver, but the person filming is just another example of how people will stop to film shit happening instead of trying to help or get the hell away from danger.
Not to sound like an ass, but…are you sure the leak is in the roof and not in a window or soffit, or some other point?

Well, I suppose since I can’t find it, it could be. Confusing the issue over the years has been a leak in the window soffit upstairs which shows up downstairs in almost the same place. They’ve been completely repaired and we thought it was fixed, but the next monsoon hit (it’s like the song, it never rains-it pours) and “Old Faithful” was still there. I’ve tried covering areas with plastic to try and narrow the search and so many techniques. I’ve had two different roofers and “leak specialists” inspect and replace the roof. Two different types of material. It’s a flat roof, which sucks, but it should be locatable. The best theory is it is leaking around the chimney upstairs and making it’s way to the downstairs ceiling. I’m going up there soon with another bucket of Henry’s and try to slather some in the joints and not kill myself.
