Guy seems like a lunatic. He can hit though.
Dodgers get Amed Rosario from the Guardians
He is. It’d be like rooting for A. Chapman
Who is Pham going to replace? Julkes? No thanks.
He’s got issues but I don’t think it’s fair to compare him to a guy who choked his girlfriend and fired off a gun a bunch of times during a fight with her.
One thing for sure, I wouldn’t want Tommy Pham in our SnS Gridiron War fantasy football league.
Giolito to the Angels for the number two and three prospects in their farm system. The number two prospect, Edgar Quero, is a catcher that’s ranked #65 in the MLB.com top 100 prospects.
The other prospect is LHP Ky Bush.
I guess they are not trying to trade Ohtani.
They came out last night and said Ohtani will not be traded. The trade above happened not long after that.
Dodger fans will be disappointed. They had him penciled in their starting lineup on Monday.
Good.
I hope they get nothing in return for him other than a pile of his jersies on the clearance track of their team store.
Yeah, it makes little sense to me. They will now get a comp pick in the draft for him. If they traded him they would likely get 3 to 5 times that value in return and then still have the chance to resign him after the season. You would think picking up that extra value would only help sell themselves to Ohtani come FA as well. It’s a weird deal for sure that they are sticking with him IMO.
Giolito was my favorite of the SP I expect to be traded.
Oh well. The Angels break the seal. I expect a flurry of pitching to be moved in the next 2-3 days.
I hope the Astros get at least 2, hopefully 3 and a splash move would be welcome.
However with the return Anaheim got it may hurt even more than we thought.
It’s a pride thing. Moreno is already about to sell the team, he’s got one last shot at winning something with a once-in-a-lifetime player, and he’s gonna take it.
I guess that makes sense.
I will add that if he wants any chance at resigning Ohtani, he needs to show the Angels can win and he is willing to make the in season addititions required to give them that chance.
I’m honestly demoralized by the Giolito/Lopez deal. They gave up a lot for two rentals. If that is the going rate Dana is either getting little to nothing done…or getting raped if he does.
From his perspective, anyway. It’s probably not the best move for the organization long-term. But to Jim’s point, if it helps them convince Ohtani to sign long-term, it’s worth it ten times over.
I will be disappointed if Brown gives up anything significant for a rental. It just feels like this year is not meant to be, and I’d rather lick our wounds, shore up holes in the off-season in the free agent market, and get ready for next year.
I doubt anyone in the Astros dugout or organization thinks the way you do.
