Trade Deadline 2023

The Heim injury must be worse than they thought.

Heim is hurt, right?

ETA: yep

Not a good sign for Heim returning. Big loss for them.

If I’m the Rangers I bring in another catcher even if I think Heim is fine. Not gonna get another chance to get one

Looks like the swap was for International Bonus Pool money. Seems prudent to cover that risk.

Seems like a good trade to me, Coach/Jim! :joy:

I love that Dusty can’t help but have a big smile talking about it.

“There is growing buzz that the White Sox may trade Dylan Cease in the next 10 minutes, per sources. Dodgers and Orioles seen as favorites if he’s moved.”

Hope he stays put. He’s a good arm and would probably thrive in LA or Baltimore.

Pham to Arizona, Flaherty to Baltimore in the past few minutes.

Update: breathe easy. Morosi says Cease was not traded just after the deadline passed.

This is about the time Greinke happened.

The White Sox wound up acquiring a pitcher for cash. Surprising.

Guess nothing else

Seems that way, but a few deals are still coming out. Latest news is Miami got Josh Bell from Cleveland.

Update: new deals still being reported 20 minutes post-deadline. Dodgers getting LHP Ryan Yarbrough from KC.

I am still holding out hope Brantley is close.

A bat would have been nice but no idea who that might have been. I was much more worried about the pitching side and happy with what they ended up with.

Barlow goes from KC to San Diego. Dang. Would have been a good fit here.

No news on bats Adam Duvall and Teoscar Hernández. Would be a little surprising if they didn’t get traded, but stranger things have happened.

I am as well.

We are in a much better place than we were. Verlander and Graveman. Can’t complain in the least. Jim Crane is a great team owner.

After the financial info came out, the bitching around here kinda stopped.
