Any republic that is still a member of the Russian Federation. I’m sure that some claim to be independent, or Moscow gives lip service to their independence. I’m looking for somebody to actually renounce membership in the Federation. Presumably that would have to be one of the border republics or regions.
“People” are now saying the jet was shot down by Russian air defense. Not sure I buy that because it would mean (a) Russian air defense actually hitting its target; and (2) there being an available air defense unit that wasn’t engaged or in pieces in Ukraine.
Does Yelena Belova have an alibi?
It appears the cause was an accidental collision with a surface to air missile.
